Bolsover War Memorial

Old Bolsover Town Council is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first phase of restoration work on the War Memorial. This initial phase, focusing on thorough conservation cleaning, represents an important step in preserving this significant monument, which honours those who served their country.

Due to the condition and material of the memorial's plaques, on-site treatment was not possible as originally planned, the plaques will need to be carefully removed and restored off-site at a later date. Additionally, the sword element of the memorial has been identified for further restoration, pending feedback from the District Council's Conservation Team.

Both the plaque restoration and sword renovation are scheduled to take place after Remembrance Day to ensure that all key elements of the memorial remain in place for the upcoming events on Sunday, November 10, and Monday, November 11.
