Bolsover Winter Festival

Bolsover Winter Festival and Lantern Parade will be taking place this year on Saturday 29 November 2025.

This is a popular event in our Calendar and continues to grow each year with increasing numbers of stalls and visitors.

The event is held in the Town Centre and is free to visitors. There are stalls in the Town Centre, including Cavendish Walk and at the Assembly Rooms and at Bolsover Castle; with free entry to residents living in Bolsover District.

This event is organised and managed by Old Bolsover Town Council.

  • Music Entertainment
  • Brass Band
  • Carol Singing
  • Father Christmas
  • Lots of Artisan Market Stalls
  • A good variety of Food and Drink Stalls

At around 4pm the much-loved Bolsover Lantern Parade will once again light up the streets of our historic town. In it's 32nd year, the parade is one of the country's biggest and longest-running light processions. The parade commences at Bolsover Castle and the stunning parade, featuring community-made lanterns, travels through the town culminating at the Cenotaph for Christmas carols.
